In addition to altering its Android platform, Google is obligated to share certain anonymized search data with AI firms and rival search services. This data-sharing initiative aims to enable these companies to refine their search-based products. However, Google retains the right to vet whether these firms meet established cybersecurity and data protection criteria before any data is disclosed. This element of the regulation is set to be enacted starting January next year.
